I have short legs. In fact I am petite only because of my short legs. So I have mastered how to make my legs look longer than they truly are. So today I’m going to share my best secrets on what I’m avoiding if I want to make my legs look longer. Swipe left to see the unbelievable difference that right styling choices can make 👉🏻

1️⃣ AVOID LOW-RISE ANYTHING
Low-rise has made its come back, but I say avoid the trend pressure of this, and stick to mid or high rise bottoms when you want to make your legs look longer.

2️⃣AVOID LACE UP HEELS
Try to avoid any shoes that cut you off mid calf. Instead opt for pumps and sandals that elongate your legs.

3️⃣AVOID BUCKLING HEMLINES
Baggy trousers are in right now so try to avoid anything that buckles in the hemline for it will make short legs appear even shorter. Favour high heels with longer trousers or bring them to be tailored for your size.

4️⃣AVOID DRESSES THAT ARE CUT OUT IN THE WAIST LINE OR LOWER
Cut out dresses are a huge trend right now. Opt for ones that has the cuts above the waistline to make your legs seem longer.

5️⃣AVOID BOXY BLAZERS
Favour cropped blazers over boxy ones. If the cropped blazer trend is not for you, lean towards the tailored and belted ones to avoid making your legs look short.

3 x STYLE RULES every short girl should know

Here comes my top tips for anybody who is petite or just wants to look taller. Once you get to know them, you’ll learn what to look for when it comes to fashion & your personal style.

1️⃣ NEVER LOW RISE
Wether it’s jeans or any other bottom of an outfit, I always try to avoid low rise for it’s tendency to shorten my already short legs. If you’re short but your legs are longer in comparison of your torso, you can rock the mid-rise bottoms. Other than that always opt for high waist lines.

2️⃣ NEVER LARGE BAGS
Big bags such as large totes & shoppers makes you look clumsy and even smaller than you are. I always try to avoid large bags and go for smaller purses that looks appropriate for my body size.

3️⃣ NEVER LOOSE WITH LOOSE
Always choose a looser top with tighter bottoms or the opposite from that, for example wide leg pants with well fitting cropped top. So as a general rule I avoid overwhelming my small body with lots of fabric.

Today I’m giving you the 6 things you’ll always regret buying so that you can avoid them from now on.

1️⃣ BEAUTIFUL BUT UNCOMFORTABLE SHOES

If the shoes are not good to walk in when you trying them on, they will never be. You will wear them once and regret it the entire time. Don’t get fooled by the looks but prioritize the comfort.

2️⃣ THE WRONG COLOR CHOICE

We’ve all tryed on a color that we absolutely love but looks completely wrong on you. Even with a little bit of research on what colors suits your skin tone, will help you never regret buying the wrong color again.

3️⃣ BUYING JUST BECAUSE IT’S TRENDY

You need to do soul searching on what style truly represents you and flatters your body type rather than just buying because it’s trendy and everybody else does. Don’t follow every trend out there but implement those that actually flatter you and make you feel confident.

4️⃣ SIZE THAT DOESN’T FIT YOU

If the piece you love is out of storage in your size don’t buy it. Wearing too small will make you look even bigger than you are and wearing too large is simply not flattering. Always buy pieces that fit you well as they are or are customizable by a taylor to avoid the regret of buying something you won’t wear.

5️⃣ PIECES YOU KNOW ONLY ONE WAY TO STYLE

Avoid last minute shoppings for those are the moments we often buy something in panic, don’t really know how to style those items and regret buying them afterwards. Be thoughtful with your shopping and always think at least 3 different ways to wear a piece before buying it, unless it’s an occasion piece.
